Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics is an international journal that aims to bridge the gap between orthopaedic basic science and the clinics, and publishes papers across the entire orthopaedics field, including basic science and clinical research studies. The journal also welcomes translational and epidemiological studies, across all aspects of musculoskeletal disorders. It is the official Open Access journal of ESSKA, the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy. About the Society
The European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) was founded in 1982. It is a professional society that represents Europe in the fields of degenerative joint disease and sports medicine.
Its aim is to improve the patients’ quality-of-life, by improving the quality of their treatment.
It brings together orthopaedic surgeons, clinicians and scientists in Europe, along with their various societies and fosters the sharing of research, of practical techniques and experience.
It organises congresses, courses, fellowship programmes, provides extensive online education and also publishes two journals, KSSTA and JEO, books and a newsletter, to keep their members at the forefront of developments. ESSKA has an international community of more than 11,000 specialists and serves as an umbrella organisation for national orthopaedic associations in Europe.
