  1. Here only the surface dimensions in millimeters are compared for human, sheep and pig menisci. P-values for the lateral versus medial meniscus comparisons are reported to the right of every major column. For the circumference, both measurements were included in the comparison. Whereas, for dimensions (width, peripheral height and superior articular length) that were recorded from three different topographical locations, only the representative average of the three measurements was included in the comparison. While for the articulating height which was recorded only from the middle third of every meniscus, measurements from all four points were compared. Statistically significant differences are indicated in bold. Aside from the circumference measurements, only the pig menisci showed significant differences between the lateral and medial menisci
