A representative case of the second subtype of iFHNF, namely posterior dislocation and fracture of the femoral head with subsequent femoral neck fracture. A 42-year-old man involved in a severe traffic accident was diagnosed with femoral head fracture and posterior hip dislocation based on X-ray (a) and CT images (b). No visible indications of bone fractures were observed in the femoral neck on MRI images (c). However, the femoral neck was fractured during open reduction and internal fixation. Thus, the femoral head and neck were internally fixed (d). Finally, femoral head necrosis was detected (e)
